Says Dr. Muncy's mom
Let’s face it. It’s a rare kid indeed who is excited about the dentist. At Pediatric Dentistry PA, our goal is to provide comprehensive dental care in a fun environment. From our giant indoor playground to ceiling mounted entertainment and indoor pond, we offer this and other diversions to help your child through the experience.
Between the frozen yogurt and Louie the Doodle, maybe we can sneak in a dental checkup and get you and your child on to the next part of your day.
Dr. Muncy provides gentle care for children, infants, and kids with special needs.
Our office, as well as the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the American Dental Association (ADA), and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) all recommend establishing a “Dental Home” for your child by one year of age. Children who have a dental home are more likely to receive appropriate preventive and routine oral health care.
You can make the first visit to the dentist enjoyable and positive. If old enough, your child should be informed of the visit and told that the dentist and their staff will explain all procedures and answer any questions. The less to-do concerning the visit, the better.
We invite you to accompany your child during the initial examination. At future appointments, you’re welcome to come into our treatment rooms or the bay, or you can remain in the waiting room. It all depends on you. Our purpose is to gain your child’s confidence and overcome any apprehension. If you choose, you’re welcome to accompany your child to the treatment room. For the safety and privacy of all patients, other children who are not being treated should remain in the play room with a supervising adult.
